Changing the Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz channel – Ubee EVW3226

The 802.11n network uses 2.4 GHz frequency band, which is divided into 13 channels between 2.412 to 2.472 GHz – each of these channels having the width of 5 MHz. In the wireless transmission, the modem requires a frequency band of 20 MHz. Thus, each Wi-Fi network operates two channels on each side, apart from the main channel located in the middle. In the same area, therefore, there can be operated no more than three networks that don’t disrupt each other – on the channels 1, 6 and 11. You should, therefore, choose the best channel for your Wi-Fi network: check which channels operate Wi-Fi networks in your area (for this purpose, you can use, among others, the inSSIDer application for PCs or the Wi-Fi Analyzer for Android mobile phones). Having identified the least disrupted channel, set it on your modem. To achieve this purpose:

  1. Log in to the configuration page with any internet browser (website address: 192.168.0.1).

  2. Go to the tab WIRELESS NETWORK/SIEĆ BEZPRZEWODOWA (1) and, next, Radio (2). Change the Channel/Kanał (3) to the least disrupted one. If you haven’t used any additional application, change the channel by 3 positions (+/- within the range from 1 to 13). Note: The channels 12 and 13 may not be operated by some devices. Confirm this change with the button Save/Zapisz (4).
