The Horizon set-top box enables two Wi-Fi networks. One of them is operated in the 2.4 GHz frequency band (name of this network is UPC24XXXXXXX), while the other network is operated in the 5 GHz frequency band (name of this network is UPC50XXXXXXX). The 2.4 GHz frequency band also operates the Bluetooth technology, wireless fixed phones, mice, keyboards, microwaves and, usually, at least several other networks in the area. The 5 GHz frequency band used by the 802.11n network is much less crowded than the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Thus, if both networks are detected by the connected device, we recommend you choose the 5 GHz frequency band – your network will be faster and its range will significantly increase.
NOTE: not every device operating a wireless network may be used in the 5 GHz frequency band. In such case, the network named UPC50XXXXXXX will not be detectable.
The name of the network and the password are provided on the sticker placed on the bottom of the set-top box. They may also be accessed by clicking MENU on the remote control and selecting the GEAR icon > NETWORK/SIEĆ > NETWORK STATUS/STATUS SIECI.
